Hilary Duff is joining the cast of The CW's Gossip Girl this fall. This cannot be good news. Doesn't she have a development deal with NBC? Does even the fourth-place network not want Duff's stuff?!
Like it or not, the onetime Disney Channel tween star will show up on Gossip Girl Oct. 5 as Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at NYU to get a taste of normal college life. (Sounds like the plot of an ABC Family movie, no?) Olivia will conveniently be roommates with Vanessa, and you can expect her to stick around for at least a few episodes.
